Travelife Partner Status

What Travelife certification is, and where Wakali actually stands on it.

What Travelife is

Travelife is an internationally recognised sustainability certification scheme for tour operators and travel agencies, assessing environmental impact, labour conditions, and community and wildlife protection against an independently audited standard. It's one of the more widely used credentials in the tour operator industry, alongside schemes like B Corp or specific national ecotourism certifications.

Our current status

Wakali Safaris is not currently Travelife-certified. We'd rather say that plainly than display a badge we haven't earned. Our actual sustainability practices — our own employed guides and vehicles, KPAP-rate mountain crew wages, and conservation fees paid in full — are set out on our Sustainable Travel page, and we're happy to answer specific questions about any of them before you book.

If certification matters to you

If a Travelife-certified operator specifically is a requirement for your trip, tell us and we'll be upfront about whether we're the right fit. If what matters to you is how a trip is actually run on the ground, ask us anything about our guides, our fees, or our community arrangements — we'd rather answer directly than point at a certificate.
